What’s a retreat? And will it help?

 What’s a retreat?

A retreat is more than a holiday.  Our retreat is a purposeful gateway to changing habits and improving wellbeing.  By ‘going-away’, you are removed from daily demands, and we replace these with opportunities to rest and recoup.  On holiday you still have ‘management duty’.  On retreat, we do this for you, whilst offering you a range of experiences that rejuvenate you.  More than a break or escape , a retreat sets intention to make meaningful and sustainable long-term difference when you return to everyday life.

 Who are we?

Your hosts for the weekend are Mel Trapman and Dr Mitzi Liddle. Mel is a Pilates instructor, movement therapist and body wizard.  Mitzi is a clinical psychologist and compassionate motivator of wholistic wellness.  Both are experienced at meeting you where you are at and creating therapeutic experiences that makes a difference.  Our hosting style is one of seamless support.  We guide you through our sessions and have made sure that you flow smoothly throughout the day’s schedule, reducing your cognitive load.

What we believe

All of us experience stress, especially over the past few years.  Over time, this stress load builds, and sometimes we don’t even notice.  However, without resetting your nervous system, to shift out of chronic stress, your body and mind take a toll.  Our retreat is geared to provide you with an integrated experience of rest and recovery.  We want to immerse you in restorative practices, so that all moments through the retreat naturally feel like replenishing self-care. 

Where it’s at

We’ve done our research and sourced a setting that effortlessly imbues relaxed luxury, connection to nature and proximity to the gourmet delights and activities of the Hunter Valley.  Catering for your needs is our priority.  We want you to feel ease and comfort throughout the experience, as we know that this is a pathway for relaxation. Your wellbeing is our sole agenda. 

 What we offer

Each day of the retreat, we offer a wellness talk, Pilates session and meditation.  The sessions are themed to develop your understanding and engagement with your nervous system.  Our sessions integrate body and mind practices that shift nervous system states from facilitating stress to rest.  The sessions are evidence based, accessible for everyone and will equip you with knowledge and techniques to take with you and enhance your future wellbeing.   


Our retreat only caters for a small group of like-minded people.  This fosters the experience of support and connection with others, who share your mind-body wellness aspirations.
